The Performance Engineer will manage the performance of key contractual deliverables, ensuring that all key performance indicators are monitored, data interfaces are established including technical performance monitoring and analysis.

The Performance Engineer is responsible to establish and support the highest level of automation for reporting.

Key Responsibilities
In this capacity, you shall take on a broad range of tasks, including but not limited to the following:
 
  • Responsible to establish, enhance, and support performance optimization and performance reporting
  • Monitor key performance indicators to determine the overall health and performance of assets
  • Collection, management, verification and further analysis and evaluation of turbine SCADA data that is collected via various turbine systems
  • Collection, management, verification and further analysis and evaluation of BoP SCADA data that is collected via various BoP systems
  • Identify technical issues affecting both turbine performance and the overall performance of the windfarm, recommend solutions and review their effectiveness to support the broader optimisation of wind farm performance.
  • Provide support to the Asset and Operations and Maintenance team to resolve the faults, reliability and efficiency issues detected.
  • Development of diagnostic and predictive analysis methods using Python, R, MATLAB or other scripting languages to quantify, analyse and track wind farm performance
  • Support to help early identification of potential turbine component failures.
  • Prepare and support the site-specific routine analysis/reporting with regards to the mentioned scope.
  • Support the reliability test and power curve test analysis
  • Responsible for the identification of new performance management areas to be supported with new analytics
  • Carrying out Proof of Concepts
  • Ensuring that value generating Proof of Concepts are implemented in the organisation
  • Accountable for making sure that solutions are being documented and processes around them are established
  • Ensure that availability warranties are monitored and evaluated to ensure a prompt and successful resolution of issues with contractors
  • Support in conducting regular commercial reporting on contractual and commercial matter
  • Ensure contractor’s commercial performance and improve when necessary
  • Ensure that the regular commercial/contractual reporting to the CEO and shareholders is automated and integrated to the maximum extent possible
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders
  • Reporting
    • Ensure asset performance monitoring and analysis
    • Ensure regular reporting is created on time / with the correct content
    • Ensure computerized interfaces are operational and maintained
  • Data Analytics
    • Turning data into insight through analytics
    • Establish daily, weekly and monthly routines, which support the Asset and Operations Management team in optimizing the performance of the asset
    • Responsible for creating small dashboarding tools which improves the efficiency of the Asset and Operations Management team
    • Ensure performance issues are identified via a data driven approach
    • Impact and change behaviour through value adding analysis

Qualifications & Key Skills
Essential
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science educations, physics, engineering and/or mathematical studies or possess similar analyst skills obtained through work experience (+5 Years)
  • Experience working Performance Management of asset preferably within the offshore industry
  • Excellent understanding of SCADA data and energy production method
  • Proficient in Python or other similar programming languages
  • Having a track record of delivering value adding Business Intelligence solutions
  • Used to develop and deliver analysis with a short time to market
  • Experience in delivering into all phases of the process from problem identification to solution finalization
  • Solid analyst background and have a commercial mindset and the ability to work independently.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Innovative

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Tenacious self-starter, professional, organized and process driven

  • Knowledge of data mining, troubleshooting, and reporting
  • Experience with data analysis, design, database, and visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau)
  • Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data

Desirable
  • Microsoft Azure experience
  • Experience from the wind turbine industry will be considered an advantage
  • Wind turbine system and/or component experience preferred
  • Background in Offshore Wind Projects
  • IT competent within the Microsoft Office package with an ability to quickly learn how to use software tools.
  • Knowledge of operational processes in Offshore Wind Farms


Language Skills
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese language. (CEFR Level C1 as minimum)
