Hai Long Project Holds Contractor Safety Day to Foster a Workplace Safety Community

The Hai Long Offshore Wind Project (“Hai Long Project”) today held its “Contractor Safety Day,” gathering shareholders, team members, and representatives from nine partner contractors to strengthen collective safety awareness through experience sharing and exchange. The event included an environmental education workshop to enhance participants’ understanding of marine ecology protection and sustainability, as well as a keynote speech advocating the establishment of a workplace culture built on mutual care and shared responsibility to form a workplace “Safety Community”.

The concept of a “Safety Community” underscores the importance of mutual support, proactive communication, and shared accountability among workplace members. The keynote speaker emphasized that when everyone identifies themselves as part of the same safety community, this sense of belonging becomes a positive force that encourages individuals to spot potential hazards, remind colleagues of risks, and work together to maintain a safe environment. Through this process, a unified safety mindset is cultivated and gradually embedded into the team’s culture.

Chris Harvey, Hai Long Project HSSE Director, stated that this marks the second Contractor Safety Day organized by Hai Long. “We hope this occasion allows shareholders, team members, and key contractors to come together to reflect on past experiences and look ahead. Through a range of activities, we remind all participants of the importance of safety and reaffirm our commitment to the highest HSE standards, working together to create a safer work environment.”

The event was organized by the Hai Long Project and joined by several partners, including BMS Offshore, CDWE (CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering), Dragon Geosciences, IOG Wind, Jan De Nul, Seaway7, Siemens Gamesa, TECO Electric Limited, and WSP.

To conclude the event, all attendees jointly signed a “Safety Declaration,” committing to place health and safety as their top priority and to work hand in hand toward building a safer, more trustworthy workplace, and marking a meaningful close to Hai Long’s 2025 "Contractor Safety Day".
